Our Story

At Lamoreaux Horses, horses are a way of life. Located in the heart of Idaho, we’ve spent the last 8+ years developing our small herd of Quarter Horses with care, intention, and a deep love for the breed. Our focus is on young horses—from weanlings to 3 year olds—raised with gentle handling, strong foundational training, and plenty of open space to grow up sound in both body and mind. Every colt and filly we offer is part of our family until they become part of yours. We believe in honest, transparent sales, and helping match the right horse with the right home. Whether you're an experienced rider or just getting started, we’re here to support your journey.

Born Into It

Raising horses isn’t just a business for us—it’s our way of life. Our family grew up around Quarter Horses, and there’s nothing we love more than springtime on the farm when the new foals arrive. Watching those babies grow—handled gently from day one, learning from their mamas, and getting a solid start—is our greatest joy. We pour our hearts into raising each colt and filly right, because we’re not just producing horses—we’re raising future partners for the next rancher, rider, or horse lover. There’s no better feeling than matching one of our babies with a great home and watching them thrive.

Our Driftwood Legacy

At Lamoreaux Horses, our horses are more than livestock—they’re part of our family’s legacy. We come from generations of horsemen and women who believed in raising good-minded, hard-working Quarter Horses that could handle a full day’s work and still walk up to you in the pasture for a scratch.

Our mares carry strong Driftwood bloodlines, and we proudly continue that tradition. Known for producing horses with heart, cow sense, and athletic ability, Driftwood horses are built to last—strong bone, solid feet, and minds that make them as reliable on the ranch as they are in the arena.

These are the kinds of horses we trust with our kids, use on the ranch, and build our breeding program around. They’re soft-eyed, steady-footed, and smart enough to do just about anything—from roping and ranching to reining and trail.
